Urgent Request - Help the farm build the roof before winter
December 6, 2022
Hello family and friends,
An update on our fundraising need for the roof. WOW, did you respond with raising the roof and donations came in at close to $10,000! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
November 23, 2022
As you can see in the above photos the cold and snow has set in at the farm. The building progress has been steadily moving forward this fall but now we are in need of additional funding to roof the first phase of the building. The building team is ready to install the roof and materials are readily available. The missing piece is funding the material. It is critical that the building gets "dried in" before the winter sets in to protect the interior floor and walls. We are so proud of Yuriy and his team for working so hard with limited resources surrounded by the war.
So our ask is to purchase the roof as well as pay for the wages of the installers which is $5,000 USD.
Please consider a small gift to help ROOF THE DORM. If you decide to donate, please make a note so we know to apply to the ROOF THE DORM project.

Shepherding the Displaced in Ukraine
As a response to the war, Ukraine Orphan Outreach has partnered with an entrepreneurial and outgoing man named Zhenya, along with his wife Julia. Zhenya is an out-of-the-box thinker, and an excellent networker who is passionate about people and believes wholeheartedly that everything is to be done for the freedom of Ukraine!
At the beginning of the full war in Ukraine, Zhenya was leading a company called "Go-Friends IT" which focused on educating orphans, foster children and low income young adults in the field of IT. From the first day of the war, Zhenya, as well as our board member Oksana, were collaborating together to help with the evacuation of people from the hot spots of the unjustified attack. Oksana brought the rest of the UOO board into the conversation and planning in the assistance of those in need. As a team, we were managing the new triage that we all found ourselves in.
Hundreds of people fled to the west and filled the walls of the Center for the Displaced that was located in Striy. Many of the displaced understood that they would not be going to bordering countries and desired to stay in Western Ukraine during this time of turmoil. As stated by Zhyena, "war has changed all plans. Dreams and new goals will come together as we come together and are not afraid of our new harsh realities."
The partnership with "Go-Friends" was seeded and began to grow. About three months into the war, it was realized that a more sustainable model needed to be pursued, and this is when Zhenya proposed moving the center from Striy to the foot of the Carpathian Mountains to a village called Morshyn. The proposal included moving all the families, including single mothers, elderly, orphans, and foster families to a sanatorium in the city. In addition, all the furniture, equipment and other supplies that had already been purchased with financial donations, would move along with the people.
Being in a more remote part of Ukraine, there is farmland surrounding the village of Morshyn. Again, thinking creatively, Zhenya pursued a few local farmers and started a dialogue as to farming the land in preparation of providing food for the winter. In addition the farming jobs would provide work for those relocating to the new center. Brilliant!
Some of the exciting happenings on the farm are listed below:
The farm came with an old barn that will be used to store hay/feed and equipment. The land also came with an old concrete foundation that will be utilized to build a new building to house more people. The new "Farm House" will be designed like a dorm, with common eating and meeting areas as well as provide private sleeping rooms for families. Again, those who are displaced will help with the construction of the new Farm House. Brilliant!
In Zhenya's words, " Our farm is a place of opportunity and new projects. The farm synthesis three things at once. First, it is providing jobs to the refugees that have relocated from dangerous parts of Ukraine. Second, we are growing food for all and will have additional crops/meat to sell to our surrounding community. And third thing is we will provide housing in the new Farm House for those who live and work on the farm."
If you would like to be a part of this Faith Farm, we appreciate any help! See our donation button below and leave us a note specifying it is for the farm.
