Ukraine Orphan Outreach (UOO) is excited to be bringing 10 orphans this summer. We are looking forward to the exciting ways that our volunteers can become connected and involved.
Tentative camp dates are July 26 – August 16th (subject to change)
We have many levels of involvement, from supplying snacks, buying clothing, chaperoning an event, sponsoring an event, provide supplies, meals and much more.
We are also looking to fill some roles to help organize different areas of camp. We are looking for coordinators who will be responsible for planning and execution of specific areas. The coordinators are asked to enlist other volunteers and not feel like they have to go it alone. Below is our list of where we need help. If you have interest in being the coordinator or to help in a certain area, please let us know so we can get you plugged in. If you want more information as to the scope of the below list, email Kris at kstoesz@aol.com Remember that just because there is a name by the list below doesn’t mean we have it “covered”, every lead coordinator needs your help, so pick something you think you might enjoy doing!

14. Run a day - be in charge of activities for a day. (a UOO board member will be there to help)

As for specific needs that we have, below is a list and if you would like to donate or help, please email or call us.

Other items we need donated:
suitecases, craft supplies, 12 scrapbooks, scrapbook supplies, toiletries, suntan lotion, bug spray, paper dinnerware, clothing/shoes/light jackets, soccer equipment.
We look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting to get plugged in. Another important date that you will need to mark on your calendar is below. The training is going to be required by the State of Colorado and is very important that you attend one of the two listed below.

We are in the planning process for Camp 2011. Tentative dates are July 26 – August 16th. Our goal is to advocate for the older orphans of Ukraine and be able to give them an opportunity to experience life outside of the orphanage. We are looking for volunteers to help with camp, from donations of clothing, snacks, field trips, crafts or just spending time with the children. We promise that your life will be forever changed when you get involved helping the least of these.

Since our last post four families have traveled to Ukraine at least once and returned to our community with their forever child/children. A total of 7 children have been adopted and our now US residents living in Longmont. Each welcoming party at DIA was heartfelt and touching to see families share in the joy of adoption. The Hooker and Pittel families have been part of the UOO support group for many years and we are so pleased to announce that both families adopted a young teenage girl. The Gazdik family jumped into the world of adoption little over a year ago and have returned from Ukraine with 4 siblings who were part of UOO camp 2010. After 3 years of determination and perseverance, the Rog
é family returned home with their forever daughter, Lizzie just over a week ago. Heidi and Felix met Lizzie at UOO camp 2007 and committed to adopt her when she was only 11. They never gave up and now are reunited once again. To find out more on the Roge adoption story, visit their blog at

Each family has their own unique, special and incredible stories that go along with their adoption. Each adoption is a victory and rescue of another child. It takes “Just ONE” to change a child’s life. Currently there are 2 families in Ukraine pursing their own adoptions. The Garrett family is on a
mission to adopt 2 2010 UOO campers. Our pastor Clay Peck and his wife Selene are on a
rescue mission as well, adopting a beautiful 16 year old from the Kharkov region. Their blogs are below if you would like to stay updated with each day they spend in Ukraine.
