After a full day of dancing, playing in the park and hanging out at Fort Fun, the UOO campers were able to experience an all you can eat buffet at the “Country Buffet” in Fort Collins. I would like to thank the Carrie Gerrish and all the staff for hosting the 11 orphans! It truly was a sight to see! When the kids first started out in the salad line, a few of them tried to pick the fresh “plastic” fruit that was on display. It was fun to see all the different combinations of food that would show up at the table. The first plateful was filled with their choices from the taco bar, meat counter and salad bar. Once they sat down and started eating, many of them realized that we were sitting right next to the ice cream machine and dessert bar! It was nearly impossible (we did not even try) to stop them from immediately attacking the dessert bar! Aloyna showed up to the table with a dish (meant for ice cream) filled with chocolate syrup and sprinkles. She forgot the ice cream, but did remember to snag 3 cones to put spoon the syrup into! We had to take away the artificial sweetener from a few of the kids as they were downing packets of sugar sweetener! Oksana decided to make her own lemon aide with water, lemons, sugar and ice! I could not keep up with the number of plates of food Vlad went back for, he loves meat! The older set of girls seemed to enjoy each others company along with the slurpies and ice cream! It was great to see all their smiles during meal time! We knew it was time to go when Valera was downing the coffee creamers! Aloyna was sad to leave and Heidi had to carry her out! Thanks again Country Buffet for allowing us to come! Thank you to Pam Eaton and her Bible Study group for providing the funds to go to the buffet!
